Janice Smith is named OLHSA Early Childhood Services Director Posted: September 20, 2017

OLHSA announced in July that Janice Smith has been named Early Childhood Services Director, where she will oversee the OLHSA programs designed to make sure children have access to the nutritional, medical, and educational services they need.  These programs, which include Early Head Start, Head Start, Great Start Readiness Program, Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and other family resources, offer assistance in and out of the classroom to ensure a positive start for children and their families.

In her new role, Janice's focus will be to strengthen collaborations with community partners. She will work together with her team to increase opportunities and outcomes for the children and families in our program.

Prior to her appointment as director, Smith was Deputy Director for Early Childhood Services at OLHSA. Throughout her long tenure at OLHSA, beginning in 1997 as a teacher, Janice has worked diligently to organize and support programs and activities, promoting the social, emotional and intellectual growth of children and their families.
