Sponsors new and old come together to heat homes and hearts Posted: January 28, 2013
With the recent arctic temperatures that blanketed our area, the need to ensure our friends and neighbors are safe and warm in their homes has taken a more critical turn. Our upcoming Livingston Walk for Warmth on February 9 at Hartland Educational Support Service Center and Oakland Walk for Warmth on February 23 at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets will help to fund keeping the heat on for families and seniors facing utility shut off, but we won’t be doing it alone. The participation of members in the community is essential to reaching our goal of $180,000, and we are anticipating a wonderful showing of walkers and teams this year.
What some may not realize is that we also rely heavily on the help of many vital sponsors in the surrounding area. Our sponsors contribute in many different ways and all levels of commitment, great or small, will profoundly impact those who need it most.
A number of our sponsors this year have participated in our Walk for Warmth events before. Genisys Credit Union has been involved with Walk for Warmth for many years and their hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. For the second year in a row they are Premiere Presenting Sponsor of OLHSA’s Walk for Warmth. All of our Heart of Platinum sponsors have made a return to Walk for Warmth as well. First National Bank of Howell, Michigan Works, First United Methodist Church of Howell, Rotary Club of Pontiac and First Presbyterian Church of Brighton are demonstrating their loyalty to making our Walk for Warmth events strong. We couldn’t be more pleased with all of our returning sponsors and their commitment to our cause.
While many of our sponsors are returning for another year, we are also embracing some new sponsors to our 2013 roster. We welcome them aboard for this fun-filled journey and are grateful for their decision to assist OLHSA in its mission of helping people and changing lives.
As we continue looking forward to our upcoming events in Oakland and Livingston counties, we would like to take this opportunity to send a heartfelt thank you to all of our 2013 Walk for Warmth sponsors. The continued support of returning sponsors, as well as the efforts of new sponsors, will be felt in the hearts and homes of many across the community.
